THE 3 MINUTE FILM COMPETITION

The jury members include prominent and interesting mix of film makers and short film lovers like Aziz Mirza, Prahlad Kakkar, Cyrus Dastur, Uma D’cunha and Selvaggia Velo (jury member in MAMI). The winning films will be screened at the prestigious RIVER TO RIVER festival at Italy.
The theme is refreshing.2nd ADVANTAGE INDIA is about showing anything positive about India. Aziz Mirza observes “Today, the world is in recession, while every news channel thrives on selling negatives, this competition should lend some optimism”. He also observes that “Anybody with passion can make a film, don’t try to make it too fancy, keep it simple”
Cyrus, who promotes the short film movement, came on the jury as he felt that such competitions can only help take this movement forward. “A site like 1takemedia.com can reach this movement across India”
Prahlad Kakkar, the famous adman, loved the idea of positivity. He said “There are so many positives about India, now let’s see them on screen. This a great opportunity for aspiring film makers to show their capabilities”
The competition has no restrictions on participation of age, qualifications, languages etc. Anybody with a camcorder can shoot a 3 minute film and send it to the organisers on a DVD. Uma D’Cunha a short film veteran feel “The short film movement is here to stay. Such competitions help fuel their growth’
